I’m interested in making beautiful, sustainable and well managed landscapes in public and private spaces.
Through creating layered ecosystems, by using restorative approaches to soil health and management, and by designing beautiful planting, I want to build in resilience and longevity and inspire and connect people to nature through the process and beyond.
I’m inspired by natural patterns, and through observation of natural landscapes and knowledge of plants, my approach contributes to the regeneration of habitats, creating ecological mosaics and green corridors that support wildlife, manage water run off, capture carbon and water for irrigation, build healthy and diverse soil biomes and engage people in the natural world around them.
My work includes design, specification and management plans for edible forest gardens, tree planting, wildflower meadows, low nutrient gardens and roof scapes, swales and rain gardens, community gardens, edible growing spaces, naturalistic and ornamental planting. I can also source plants and provide horticultural advice for all aspects of garden management.
The last few years have seen me focus on working with communities, developing community gardens eg Glengall Wharf Garden and supporting charities develop meanwhile sites eg the Paper Garden.
I am part of the Agroforestry Research Trust consultancy network
